After building a foundation in banking and consumer finance sales, Jignesh made a deliberate pivot into telecom — joining Bharti Televentures Ltd, the mobile services arm of the Bharti Group in the years before it consolidated under the Airtel brand.
As Territory Sales Manager for prepaid distribution, the mandate was building retail and distributor reach in a market where mobile penetration was accelerating fast, and the operators who won were the ones who could get a SIM card into a customer’s hands the fastest.
“Bharti is where I learned that in telecom distribution, the winner isn’t the biggest brand — it’s whoever restocks the retailer first.”
This was the role where Jignesh first specialized in the specific mechanics of prepaid telecom distribution — recharge coupon logistics, distributor stocking cycles, retail outlet incentive structures — a specialization that would define the next decade of his career across Bharti, Aircel, and Uninor.
It also marked the beginning of a pattern that repeated across every telecom role that followed: entering a territory, rebuilding retail relationships from the ground up, and proving that disciplined, high-frequency channel management beats brand strength alone.
